Tippa Irie (born Anthony Henry on 7 June 1965 in Brixton, South London) is a British reggae singer and DJ known for his work in reggae, dancehall, and UK MC culture. Early Career Tippa Irie rose to prominence in the early 1980s as an MC on the South London reggae soundsystem Saxon Studio International. He gained national exposure through BBC Radio 1, releasing singles such as “It’s Good To Have The Feeling You’re The Best” and “Complain Neighbour” on Greensleeves Records. His first UK Top 40 hit came in 1986 with “Hello Darling.” Collaborations and Notable Work Tippa Irie has collaborated with a range of artists across genres, including: Alexander O’Neal Long Beach Dub All Stars The Skints Chali 2na The Black Eyed Peas on the 2003 track “Hey Mama” The Bug, on the single “Angry” from the album London Zoo Media Appearances In 2010, he appeared on BBC Television’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks, participating in the identity parade round.
