Country: Jamaica
T.O.K. are a Jamaican dancehall reggae group from Kingston, formed in 1996 by Alistaire “Alex” McCalla, Roshaun “Bay-C” Clarke, Craig “Craigy T” Thompson, and Xavier “Flexx” Davidson (now Ja Flexx). Dubbed “the world’s greatest dancehall-reggae boy band” by The New York Times, they rose to international prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s with high-energy performances and chart-crossing appeal. The group scored major hits including “Wacky Dip,” “Eagles Cry,” “Footprints,” “Gal You Ah Lead,” “Guardian Angel,” and “Money 2 Burn,” releasing successful albums such as My Crew, My Dawgs (2001) and Unknown Language (2005), both of which achieved platinum status in Japan. Their music blended dancehall, reggae, and pop influences, earning global airplay and touring success. After disbanding in 2015, T.O.K. reunited in 2022 and returned with new music in 2023, releasing “NPLH (Home)” produced by Shams the Producer. Their reunion reaffirmed their legacy as one of Jamaica’s most influential and recognizable dancehall groups.
