Shenseea (born Chinsea Linda Lee on 1 October 1996 in Mandeville, Jamaica) is a Jamaican singer who has become one of the most internationally visible figures in modern dancehall. Of Jamaican and South Korean heritage, she grew up in Jamaica, attended Mona High School, and studied Entertainment Management at Excelsior Community College before leaving due to financial challenges. Inspired from a young age, she pursued music with determination, blending dancehall with hip-hop and pop influences. Shenseea quickly expanded her reach through collaborations with major artists including Sean Paul, Christina Aguilera, Tyga, Swae Lee, Young Thug, Tarrus Riley, and Major Lazer. Songs like “Blessed” and “Lighter” became major Caribbean and international hits, helping establish her as a global crossover artist. Shenseea reached a major milestone in 2021 through her collaboration with Kanye West on the album Donda, earning her a Grammy nomination as a featured artist. She signed with Interscope Records and released her debut album Alpha (2022), followed by Never Gets Late Here (2024), which received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album.
