Pliers

Everton Bonner, better known as Pliers (born 4 April 1963), is a Jamaican reggae singer most famous for his work as part of the duo Chaka Demus & Pliers. He comes from a family of reggae artists, including his brothers Richie Spice and Spanner Banner. Pliers began his career performing under the name Blues Melody, later adopting the stage name Pliers due to a vocal resemblance to fellow reggae artist Pinchers. Early in his career, he recorded hits with producers such as Coxsone Dodd and Winston Riley, but his solo work never matched the commercial success he achieved in collaboration with Chaka Demus. Despite limited solo success, Pliers has had songs featured in popular culture, including his track Bam Bam, which appeared on the fictional radio station K-Jah West in the soundtrack of the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
