The Opihi Pickers were a Hawaiian island reggae group known for blending island music, reggae, and contemporary sounds. Their relaxed, melodic style helped them stand out in Hawaii’s local music scene and beyond. The band consisted of vocalist and ukulele player Imua Garza, his brother Hoku Garza on guitar and ukulele, and their cousins Kahale Morales on bass and Kevin Okimoto on guitar and vocals. Together, they created a tight family-based group with a distinctive island vibe. The Opihi Pickers began recording music in 1998 while still teenagers and gained wider recognition in 2001 with their hit song “Old Fashioned Touch.” In early 2008, the group announced they would disband, officially ending the band in June of that year.
