Mungo’s Hi Fi

Mungo’s Hi Fi is a Glasgow-based sound system founded in 2000 by Tom Tattersall and Doug Paine, inspired by the traditional Jamaican sound system culture. The duo writes, records, produces, and performs their own reggae and dub music, often collaborating with other artists and producers. The group expanded with Craig Macleod joining in 2002 and Jerome Joly in 2006. Over the years, Mungo’s Hi Fi has released ten albums along with numerous EPs and singles. Their music blends classic reggae and dub influences with modern production techniques, staying true to the sound system tradition while innovating within the genre. They have collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Mike "Prince Fatty" Pelanconi, Max Romeo, Charlie P, and Daddy Freddy, further cementing their reputation as a leading contemporary reggae and dub collective in Europe.
