Mellow Mood

Mellow Mood is an Italian reggae band from Pordenone, Italy, formed in 2005 by twins Jacopo and Lorenzo Garzia while still in high school. The group officially debuted in 2009 with their album Move!, produced by Paolo Baldini, which gained international recognition and earned them the title of "best Italian reggae band" at Rototom Sunsplash. Singles like "Only You" and "Dance Inna Babylon" accumulated over fifty million views on YouTube, helping establish their presence in the global reggae scene. Following a line-up change, Mellow Mood released Well Well Well in 2012 under Italy’s leading independent label, La Tempesta, marking a step forward in their fusion of roots reggae, rocksteady, and contemporary Jamaican sounds. The band undertook a major European tour, performing in 12 countries at prominent festivals including Rototom Sunsplash, Sziget Festival, and Reggae Camp. Their subsequent albums, Twinz (2014) and 2 The World (2015), featured collaborations with international artists such as Tanya Stephens, Jah9, Richie Campbell, and Hempress Sativa, highlighting their mix of classic and modern reggae influences. In late 2015, Mellow Mood launched their sub-label, La Tempesta Dub, to release future works and support reggae collaborations. The band continued to tour extensively in Europe and America through 2016 and 2017, cementing their reputation in the international reggae community. More recently, they contributed to Collie Buddz’s Cali Roots Riddim 2020 with the track "Unstoppable", and featured on Fortunate Youth’s 2021 single "Around The World", demonstrating their ongoing activity and influence in the genre.
