Magic!

Magic! is a Canadian reggae fusion band formed in Toronto in 2012 and now based in Los Angeles. The group consists of lead vocalist/guitarist/producer Nasri Atweh, guitarist/keyboardist Mark "Pelli" Pellizzer, and bassist Ben Spivak. Their sound blends reggae with pop and R&B, heavily inspired by Bob Marley and The Police. They are best known for their international hit single "Rude", which reached number one in multiple countries including the US and UK. The band released their debut album Don't Kill the Magic in 2014, which included the singles "Don't Kill the Magic" and "Let Your Hair Down." They gained widespread recognition, performing at the Latin Grammy Awards and the American Music Awards, and winning two Juno Awards in 2015 for Breakthrough Group of the Year and Single of the Year. Their second album, Primary Colours (2016), featured collaborations such as "Lay You Down Easy" with Sean Paul, while their third album, Expectations (2018), continued to showcase their signature reggae-pop fusion. After a hiatus from 2020 to 2022, the band returned with drummer Alex Tanas departing and new music on the horizon. Their fourth album, Inner Love Energy, was released in April 2024, preceded by singles like "Aint Got Nothin' Figured Out" and "Inner Love Energy." Throughout their career, Magic! has collaborated with major artists such as Shakira, David Guetta, Sean Paul, and Showtek, solidifying their reputation for creating globally appealing reggae-infused pop music.
