He released his debut album Like Father Like Son in 1996, which helped establish him as part of the new generation of reggae artists. His growing popularity continued with singles like “Dear Dad,” which topped British reggae charts, and collaborations with artists such as Pras of the Fugees. His 2001 album Many More Roads earned a Grammy nomination, marking a major milestone in his career and solidifying his international reputation. Over the years, Ky-Mani released several albums including The Journey, Milestone, Radio, and Maestro, while touring extensively and even opening for rock band Van Halen. He also expanded into acting, taking lead roles in Jamaican films such as Shottas and One Love. In later years, he collaborated with contemporary artists like XXXTentacion, Vybz Kartel, and Stefflon Don, showing his ability to bridge traditional reggae with modern global sounds.
