Knowledge Knowledge was a roots reggae group formed in the Rema area of Kingston, Jamaica, in 1974. Led by principal songwriter and vocalist Anthony Doyley, the group became known for conscious, militant roots reggae with strong Rastafarian themes. They recorded extensively with producer Tapper Zukie, releasing their debut album Hail Dread on A&M Records in 1978, followed by Judgement (1980). In the early 1980s, Knowledge scored notable reggae hits including “Na Buy Apartheid,” “Chant Rasta Man,” and “Fire Burn” under producer Roy Cousins. Despite internal changes and personal tragedies, the group remains respected for its powerful contributions to classic roots reggae.
