Jermaine Christopher Fagan, also known by his stage name Prince, is a reggae musician born on 24 September 1978 in Saint Thomas, Jamaica, and raised in Portmore. He developed an early interest in music and migrated to the United States in 1999 after completing sixth form at Kingston College. While in Philadelphia, Fagan attended Temple University and became part of a band called "The Black Star Family," which helped him hone his skills and develop his sound before the group disbanded in 2004. Following the dissolution of the band, Fagan embarked on a solo career and began working on his debut album, More 2 Life. The title track of the album became a hit in Jamaica, staying in the top ten charts on Irie FM for seven consecutive weeks. His music is known for its conscious themes, addressing issues such as poverty, inequality, and social justice, often drawing comparisons to Damian Marley for his socially aware style. Over the years, Fagan has released two albums and established himself as a respected conscious reggae artist. He has performed at numerous festivals, including the annual Yam Festival in Philadelphia and the annual Reggae Festival in New Jersey, building a reputation for engaging live performances and music that resonates with audiences seeking thoughtful and uplifting messages.
