J.C. Lodge J.C. Lodge (born June Carol Lodge, 1 December 1958) is a British-Jamaican reggae singer, visual artist, and educator. She rose to international fame with her reggae cover of “Someone Loves You, Honey,” which became the best-selling single of 1982 in the Netherlands. Born in the UK and raised in Jamaica, Lodge blended reggae with R&B and pop, scoring major hits such as “Telephone Love,” one of the first dancehall tracks to cross into the U.S. R&B and hip-hop market. She has collaborated with artists including Shabba Ranks and Tiger, and worked with top producers like Joe Gibbs and Gussie Clarke. Beyond music, Lodge is an accomplished painter, stage actress, and qualified teacher. She also created the acclaimed Sing ’n’ Learn children’s music and TV series, widely adopted in Jamaican schools.
