Ismaël Isaac (born Kaba Diakité Issiaka in 1966) is an Ivorian reggae singer known for his roots-inspired sound and socially conscious themes. Born in Abidjan to parents from Ponondougou in northern Côte d’Ivoire, he was heavily influenced by reggae legends Bob Marley and Alpha Blondy, shaping his musical style and message. He rose to prominence after being discovered on the Ivorian television talent show First Chance, broadcast by Radio Télévision Ivoirienne. His talent caught the attention of keyboardist Georges Kouakou, which led to a recording contract with Island Records. In 1993, Ismaël Isaac released the successful single “Taxi Jump,” marking his breakthrough on the international reggae scene. After a long absence from recording, Ismaël Isaac returned in August 2014 with the album Je reste, produced by Canta Productions. The comeback project featured collaborations with artists such as Mokobe and Bony RAS, reaffirming his place as an important voice in Ivorian reggae.
