Collie Buddz, born Colin Patrick Harper on August 21, 1981, in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a Bermudian reggae singer who was raised in Bermuda and studied audio engineering at Full Sail University in Florida. He released his self-titled debut album in 2007 under Columbia and Sony BMG, featuring the singles "Come Around," "Blind To You," and the hit "Mamacita," which sold around four million copies. Early in his career, he also collaborated with Shaggy on the 2007 album Intoxication. Following his debut, Buddz launched his own label, Harper Digital Entertainment. From 2008 to 2015, Buddz expanded his career with tours, festival appearances, and new releases. He performed his song “S.O.S.” for WWE, collaborated on a remix of Kid Cudi's "Day ‘n’ Nite," and released his first EP Playback in 2012 and the second EP Blue Dreamz in 2015. He shared the stage with major acts like Rebelution, Matisyahu, and The Green, appearing at notable events such as Lollapalooza, California Roots Music Festival, and the Marley Family’s 9 Mile Music Festival, solidifying his reputation in the reggae scene. Buddz released subsequent studio albums Good Life (2017) and Hybrid (2019), both topping the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and featuring collaborations with artists including Snoop Dogg, Tech N9ne, and Stonebwoy. He also created the Cali Roots Riddim series, producing riddim albums from 2020 to 2023 that showcased reggae and reggae-rock artists’ interpretations. His fourth studio album, Take It Easy, was released in 2023 and earned a nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Buddz has also ventured into lifestyle projects, including a limited-edition rosé wine, “Love and Rosé.”
