01 — Born in Jamaica
Reggae was born in Jamaica in the late 1960s, growing from the sounds of ska and rocksteady. Created in recording studios, dance halls, sound-system sessions, and everyday communities, reggae reflected the life, creativity, struggles, faith, and spirit of the Jamaican people.
What began on a small Caribbean island became a sound that reached the world.
02 — The Music
Reggae is recognized by its deep bass lines, offbeat rhythm, powerful vocals, and unforgettable storytelling. Its sound has continued to evolve through roots reggae, dub, lovers rock, dancehall, and modern Caribbean music.
From vinyl records and selectors to live bands and digital riddims, reggae created a musical language that generations can feel, dance to, and carry forward.
03 — The Message
Reggae has always been more than entertainment. It gives voice to messages of freedom, justice, love, unity, faith, resistance, and human dignity.
Through its lyrics and rhythms, reggae speaks for people whose stories are often overlooked. It reminds the world that music can inspire awareness, healing, pride, and social change.

Reggae is not only heard—it is seen. From Rastafari colors, handcrafted pieces, and African-inspired influences to bold dancehall fashion, jewelry, hairstyles, and streetwear, reggae style is a powerful form of self-expression.
Fashion became another way Caribbean people told their stories, celebrated identity, and showed cultural pride to the world.
05 — The Legacy
Reggae began in Jamaica, but its influence now lives across the globe. It has shaped music, fashion, language, dance, activism, art, and youth culture from Kingston to New York City and beyond.
Its legacy continues through artists, DJs, dancers, designers, families, collectors, and communities who keep the sound and spirit alive.
